A Celebration of Creativity: Our Best Haberdashery Event Yet!
For the past few years, we at Elphicks have been proud to host our popular haberdashery event in Farnham, and we’re thrilled to say that yesterday’s gathering was truly the best one yet!
A Community Coming Together
With over 45 attendees joining us, the atmosphere was buzzing with creativity and warmth. It was wonderful to welcome not just our local Farnham community, but also crafters from beyond Farnham who made the journey to be part of this special event. There was a real sense of community throughout the day, with makers of all skill levels coming together to share their passion for textile crafts.
Workshops and Learning Opportunities
A huge thank you goes to our talented workshop guest who made the evening so memorable. Miss Maker led an inspiring mini class on freestyle sewing on cards, encouraging everyone to explore their creative side. We were also delighted to have Imogen Melisse, who demonstrated her beautiful 3D bead embroidery techniques, captivating everyone with her intricate work.
Our dedicated knitting, crochet, and quilting corners was a particular highlight, where beginners could learn the basics while experienced crafters shared tips and chatted about their current projects. Quilters enthusiastically discussed their works in progress, swapping pattern ideas and fabric recommendations. The exchange of ideas and encouragement truly embodied the supportive spirit of the maker community.
Refreshments and Raffle Prizes
Throughout the event, we kept our guests refreshed with complimentary tea, coffee, and biscuits, creating a relaxed and welcoming environment for crafting and conversation.
Our raffle was incredibly popular, with lucky winners taking home wonderful prizes including beginner crochet kits and cross-stitch kits—perfect for starting a new creative journey or expanding existing skills.
